Don´t know how to work a magic ring? Take a look at http://www.planetjune.com/blog/tutorials/magic-ring-right-handed
Note: In rnd 2 it will only be worked in the ch-2 sps from rnd 1. In rnd 3 it will only be worked in the ch-4 sps from rnd 2.
Please read through the instructions before beginning.
Instructions
Rnd 1) In magic ring: Beg 2dc cl, ch 2, *2dc cl, ch 2* 7 times. Join with a ss at top of beg 2dc cl. (=8 ch-2 sps).
Rnd 2) Ss to first ch-2 sp. Beg 4dc cl, ch 4, *4dc cl, ch 4* 7 times. The last 4 dc cl has its ”second leg” in the first ch-2 sp. Join with a ss at top of beg 4dc cl. (= 8 ch-4 sps).

Crochet flower card

Crochet flower card free patter

Step 1. First up make some flowers. I used a 3ply cotton and a 2.5mm hook… but you could use any yarn and corresponding hook. Embroidery floss and a 1.5mm hook would be cute.  Make a magic circle and chain 1. Sc 10 times into the circle:

Pull tight and join with a slip stitch:

Chain 2, DC into the next stitch 3 times, chain 2…

and slip stitch into the next stitch (one petal made).

Free pattern crochet flower card

Repeat (chain 2, 3 dc into next stitch, chain 2, ss into next stitch) to make 4 more petals (5 in total) and ss into the bottom of your starting chain to finish.
Pull your magic circle super tight, fasten off the ends and voila… one cute tiny flower:
Make two more in different colors and sew a small button in the center of each one.
Step 2: Make desired number of leaves using green cotton:
Chain 7 ss in second chain from the hook, hdc in next stitch, dc in next 2 stitches, hdc in next, ss in last stitch. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Step 3: Select your card. I like to rule my lines to make sure my sewing is straight:

Then with a rubber under the front of the card, use your needle to punch holes the length of the line (stem) so your stitches are even(ish):

Step 4: Stitch the stems, up, then back (fasten off after each one):

Step 5: And glue your flowers and leaves in place:

And there you have a very happy little card! I’m thinking I might make another and frame it… What do you think?

**I have timed this pattern and it actually only takes me 10 minutes to make a hat. How simple can you get :)
This hat is worked in the round - do not turn after each row.
Ch 3
Rnd 1: 12 dc in 3rd chain from the hook, join with a sl st to beginning ch 3.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in same stitch as ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch around, join with sl st to beginning ch 2.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, join with sl st to beginning ch 2.
Rnd 4-7: Repeat row 3.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sl st in each dc around, join with sl st to beginning ch 1, fasten off. Weave in ends.

Rnd 8 Variations:
* Ch 1, reverse sc around, join & fasten off.
* Ch 1, sc around, join & fasten off.
* Ch 1, sc, *ch 1, sc*, repeat * around, join & fasten off.

This is an excellent pattern to use up scraps, just make each row, a different color, or make hat one color and Rnd 8 a different color. Just be creative!

(If you have trouble with row 23, here’s another way of explaining the instructions there: First you have (1shell in next shell, ch5, [2dc, ch3, 2dc] in next shell, ch5) x4 so this gives you 4 normal shells and 4 [2dc, ch3, 2dc] shells - 8 in total. Then there’s another shell after the last ch5 - so 9 in total. Then ch4 and again the [2dc, ch3, 2dc shell] - 10 in total. Then again ch4 and normal shell - 11 in total. Next one is the center shell.)

Materials needed:
  • 1-(10m) spool Kreink 3215 Peridot in Medium #16 Braid
  • 1-(10m) spool Kreinik 091 Star Yellow in Medium #16 braid
  • 1-(10m) spool Kreinik 3506 Blue Samba in Medium #16 Braid
  • Size 1 steel crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge for apples)
  • Sewing needle with eye large enough to allow the Braid to pass through
Finished size: 2” wide by 10” long

Instructions:
Key: ch = chain, sc = single crochet, sk = skip, hdc = half double crochet, st = stitch, sl (or sl st) = slip stitch, tog = together, dc = double crochet, lp = loop, trc = triple crochet

NOTE: It is critical that eggs are 2” wide at widest point when finished as this will ensure that you have enough thread to complete project as you will use nearly all thread specified.

EGGS: (make 1 green, 1 blue, 1 yellow)
Row 1: Ch 4, 7 trc in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, turn. (8 trc)
Row 2: Sk first trc, sc in next trc, (ch 2, sk next trc, sc in next trc) 2 times, ch 2, sc in top of ch-4 of previous row, ch 3, turn. (4 loops)
Row 3: Sc in first ch-2 sp (ch 3, sc in next ch-2 lp) 3 times, ch 3, sc in turning ch of previous row, ch 3, turn. (5 lps)
Row 4: Sc in first lp, (ch 3, sc in next lp) 4 times, ch 3, turn. (5 lps)
Row 5: Rep Row 4, ch 1, turn. (5 lps)
Row 6: (2 sc in next lp, sc in next sc) across, ending with-2 sc in last lp, ch 4, turn. (14 sc)
Row 7: (Trc next 2 sts tog) 2 times, trc in each of next 5 sc, (trc next 2 sts tog)) 2 times, ch 1, turn. (9 trc)
Row 8: (Sc next 3 sts tog) 3 times, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 9: Sc last 3 sts tog, fasten off. (1 sc)

BOW: With blue, ch 30, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off
TAILS: With blue, ch 25, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off.
MIDDLE TAIL: With green, ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off.

FINISHING: Press eggs and bow and tail pieces with warm steam iron placing cloth between iron and crochet pieces. With sewing needle and matching color crochet thread, attach eggs to each other using photo as guide for placement. With strand of blue crochet thread, fold bow piece in half and wrap thread around center of bow several times, secure to top of egg with needle and weave in ends so as not to show from back side. Fold blue tail piece in half, place green middle tail piece in center of fold, and secure both pieces to bottom of egg using sewing needle and weaving in ends so as not to show from back side. Press entire piece again if desired.
